Today people across the United States celebrate Thanksgiving. Families and friends come together, share dinner, and reflect on the past year. As it's the tradition now, Thanksgiving is followed by Black Friday, when many shops and manufacturers offer their products at a discount. After some final preparations and testing, Tuesday was the big liftoff: DEVONthink To Go 4.0 Kepler left the launch ramp. On board are many new and improved features you already know from DEVONthink for Mac: generative AI, custom metadata, versioning, a greatly enhanced search language, and much more. And if you're already using DEVONthink on your Mac, we have a special surprise for you that you will definitely like!
This version is named after the German astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571–1630) who revolutionized astronomy by discovering the laws of planetary motion, proving that planets orbit the Sun in ellipses. His work bridged observation and mathematics, exemplifying how curiosity, precision, and persistence lead to discovery and create knowledge.
Black Friday — 25 % Discount
Do you need a license or another seat? Or have you been waiting for the right time to upgrade to DEVONthink 4? Here it is! From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, we offer 25 percent discount on all our software products, upgrades, extensions, and ebooks on our website. Just add them to your cart. The discount will be automatically applied this weekend.
Our traditional Black Friday offer starts Thursday, November 27th, 2025, 6 p.m. UTC, and ends Tuesday, December 2rd, 2025, at 9 a.m. The App Store follows its own schedule. The discount also applies to update extensions, but raises the early-bird discount for two- and three-year extensions to a maximum of 25 percent. The Black Friday discount cannot be combined with other offers such as the students & educators discount and does not include App Store subscriptions. The next generation of DEVONthink To Go has lifted off and is now following the course of its Mac sibling with all power levers full foward.
Enjoy integrated (and optional) generative AI, custom metadata, an enhanced, powerful search language, customizable smart groups, versioning, and revision-proof databases. All wrapped in a modern user interface optimized for iOS 26 and Apple's new Liquid Glass.
One License to Rule Them All
You asked for it and we heard you: Register DEVONthink To Go 4 with your DEVONthink Pro or Server 4 license, as long as the license is eligible for updates. If you don’t have a Mac, use DEVONthink Standard, or are satisfied with an older generation of DEVONthink, there are also traditional monthly and yearly subscriptions as before.
Did you purchase DEVONthink To Go 3 on or after January 1, 2024, with a one-time purchase? Then you can enjoy the full functionality of DEVONthink To Go 4 for free until the end of 2026.

DEVONthink To Go, Your Way
Customize DEVONthink To Go to fit your needs. Version 4 brings completely redesigned and reorganized settings. Customize toolbars, adjust text sizes, or specify how many versions DEVONthink To Go should keep for you. You can even choose which notifications you want to receive and which you don't.
And if you can't find that one setting you're looking for, just tap the magnifying glass and search for the right option.
Chat with Your Documents
Just like DEVONthink for Mac, DEVONthink To Go 4 has a global chat that lets you interact with your trusted AI (or at least the one of your choice). Use it to brainstorm ideas, draft text, or generate images.
However, you can also open a separate chat within a document. Then, the AI can not only access that document, but the chat becomes permanently attached to it. Switch between documents as you like, and when you return you can simply pick up where you left off with the AI.
DEVONthink To Go remembers the global chat, the last 100 document chats, and all conversations younger than three months. In Settings > AI, you can see how many chats are currently stored. Delete them with a single tap if needed.
